Standing, Still Standing

How precious is Your grace, mercy and love showered on me; such unmerited favor blows me away. Many are the months since I've felt up to writing. Moving backwards when the stream flows ahead, it seems like the enemy is fighting for my life, my sanity, my soul. Yet, Lord, I know my soul, life, body and mind belong to you. The blessings are pouring out from the windows of Heaven, why am I walking around with my umbrella up preventing them from penetrating into my life?

Yet, still what You have for me will be made manifest whether my arms are open wide or not. The manner in which they flow into me may not feel much like a blessing at the time, yet they persist. For this I say THANK YOU! You cause me to keep standing when my soul wants to faint, You water my roots causing them to grow deep into Your word. You are the Rock under my feet and the wind that blows me, sometimes gently, but lately forcefully, along Your path.

I know Your plans for me are wonderful. Holding to Your hand, knowing there is no other way for me, I acknowledge my weakness and ask for Your Spirit that resides in me to strengthen me and cause me to be bold for your sake.

Purify me, cleanse me, give me a clean heart and a renewed righteous spirit, and I will come out as pure gold!

Why Purify?

Assessments are a reality of life. We are constantly assessing and reassessing everything. How we live, where we live, what we eat, why we eat it, what we wear, where we shop. The list goes on...
The other day, as I was driving through a very picturesque neighborhood, something forced me to stop and make an assessment.

Traffic on the road was light that day. Suddenly traffic came to a halt in both directions.  After my initial bout of road rage at the utter inconvenience (Another blog for another day), I realized there was a deer in the road. The deer was just standing in the middle of the road looking backward and forward. It appeared as though it was assessing the situation; trying to decide whether to forge ahead, or go back to familiar territory.

The deer decided to forge ahead. As it moved forward, five other deer followed peacefully behind it. Absolutely blown away, I began to look at my life through the eyes of that deer. I was at a crossroad; do I forge ahead into unknown and potentially painful territory, or do I turn around and go back into a familiar situation and pattern of living. The Holy Spirit said "Forge ahead daughter. Better for you is ahead not behind. If you've properly assessed the situation, others will follow you in peace."

Thus was born Purify Ministries. This is a walk we will take together. Finding strategies to conquer our fears, frustrations and the negative stress that weighs us down and wears us out. We will purify and renew our spirits through prayer, praise, encouragement and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 11:28-30 (Message) reads: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Let's walk together with Jesus.
